God has recently prompted me to really dig into the Lord's Prayer this week to understand what it truly means. I have been doing some self-study on prayer, beginning with Catherine Marshall's excellent book, Adventures in Prayer. I took E.M. Bounds' Complete Works on Prayer off the shelf first....and, daunted...put it back. If you have read it, you are a better person than I! I decided to stick with the simple approach! I have to admit that I never really understood the line, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven," until a few days ago. The gravity of saying that really struck me for the first time. (This is coming from someone who was raised Catholic. Hmm, I guess it's true about those "vain repetitions".) I don't know why you choose to post things when you do, but the timing of this was a perfect confirmation and expansion on something God is teaching me! Thanks. I agree that this is a rhema word. Thank God for revelation and illumination in His word. This age on earth will end as we know it. It does mean elimination of things as we know them now in this world system. It is inevitable that His Kingdom is coming and is come. He will have preeminence. It will get darker before the Light shines forth in His completeness. I have read your book "The Irresistable Kingdom" and it is a book that every believer should have in their library. Thanks be to people like Chip that tell it like it is-he never beats around the bush or sugar coats anything just to satisfy itching ears.
