Thanks so much for sharing! There is so much deception out there in the churches today. I am recognizing it is ALL a work of God in ones life. It is ALL JESUS!

The Kingdom of God is Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. John 12:24-25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it die, it brings forth much fruit. He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

Enjoyed this post, Chip. It's truth - we cannot do *anything* apart from Christ. We can't save ourselves, but we can't even live the Christian life! But once we receive His life, He can live it through us.

Lord, forgive me. I receive this correction. Ever once in awhile my tongue or thoughts show that the ugly root of Self in those areas Chip described above still resides, even when I thought the ugly plant was pretty nigh dead.

My lesson today... Repentence alone (feeling remorse over one's actions) does not attack the root. Unless guilt is dealt with by a visit AGAIN to the Cross, which has "perfected forever" them that are sanctified (Hebrews 19:14), there is no victory over Self.

I tell ya, sometimes to get to the Cross is no easy thing. But boy oh boy, when one gets there, everything changes!

That was amazing. The solution to my frustration is found in the problem itself. I can't do it. So, this is the solution?! I never thought of it that way. I thought the fact that I am not able to do it was the problem and that God wanted me to be able to do it. This thinking has caused me much pain and frustration. I was like a prisoner. Now I see that the fact that I can not do it all makes me rely on God and Him alone.

Thank you for helping me see such a vital truth of the Word of the Lord.

The problem that is glaring....Most and I mean (this included me) most, still retain the beam in their own eye. If one cannot say "Iam spirit and the flesh has no power over me" and (I dont mean just say these words and think them but have become this) be walking in the Truth by the Truth what business does he or she have at all instructing anyone? This is a huge point of joy in my life. Joy emits from the spirit many lessons need to be learned. Once Christ has redeemed (saved) the soul, He will fill the soul with the righteousness that is Him....This is the "good news".

Thank you for your teachings and the transparency of your walk of faith. I have been plugging in for years, reading, learning, reflecting and identifying with your experiences. Particularly in the past several years as my husband and I have left organized religion. There was a struggle and loneliness that persisted for quite awhile. But we like many eventually move past that as we quickly identified the issues through your teachings on the subject. I have from the beginning of my walk seen a clear picture of the Ekklesia as the true body of Christ.
Your online study of Ephesians, particularly chapter 5 and subsequent discussion hit me hard. Simply put I enjoy wine and sometimes too much. I have realized that my self-control was inconsistant and some of the people we gather with socially along with family made it very easy for me. Although I realize the decision rests with me alone I would rationalize it away as we can do with sin and sometimes I would be so ashamed I avoided my prayer closet because I could not face God yet again with apologies asking for forgiveness.
Well today is a new day for me "in Christ" because I desire no support group and there is no one I can count on including my husband for my release from alcohol. You can hide all kinds of things from people but you cannot hide them from God. For too long I have been plagued with guilt knowing that it was open rebellion to His will for me yet I persisted. Yes I am very ashamed and I know I have testing and challenges ahead, alas I will take it one day at a time relying on Him who can do for me what I cannot do for myself.
Your teaching today encouraged me and reminded me that self-control is a fruit of the spirit. It is easy for me to discipline myself in other areas of my life but this area has been a challenge.
Thank you for your faithfulness.
In Christ

Please correct me if I am wrong, but what I am understanding of this, is that the seed/Christ/gate is planted, and then the maturity of that seed, which we become one with is equivalent to a baby in a womb. This womb is the path and the narrowness of it, which would suggest that a person was not truly born again until they gain entrance after their life here on earth.
Some press on, others are still born and some are aborted altogether.
In other words the travail of the church should be to push these new converts through the womb with prayer that they be formed in His likeness until they mature that they can then press on through themselves.
The condition is no less seen in the natural childbirth of today. Some have a retardation to growth and some mature, some have deformities, like deaf, blind, or lame???
