Yesterday a friend of mine who faithfully tithes, again was asking me for money. I don't mind helping out, but I felt this time that the Lord wanted me to say something, instead of just silently giving the money, so I did. I just said that there's something wrong when you pay the tithe, but then do not have enough money to buy food. And I asked if she had gone to the church where she faithfully tithes to for help. I said to ask the Holy Spirit about these things. Well, today I wrote a letter, about what I feel God showed me about the tithe, namely: we are to be led by the Holy Spirit, how much to give, and to whom. And that we are to pay our bills and provide for the necessities of our families. I don't know how the letter will be received. It wasn't written to change anyone's mind, just to state how I feel. But it feels good to put what I believe is the truth down on paper, and send it off to someone,(and that church as a whole) that is in terrible fear of what will happen if they "don't pay the tithe". The Truth makes us free. I pray that God will continue to reveal Truth to us, and that we will trust Him to walk in that Truth. Then we will indeed be free. Hi my brothers and sisters in Christ,

It is an assuradly uneasy place, giving up every thing you have known to be true and holding on for dear life to hear truth daily uncertain of your sanity. I would recommend to anyone in the same situation to ask Jesus WHY DO I BELIEVE THE THINGS I DO or if you can already determine that you believe the lies that have been taught to you, WHO DO YOU BLAME. Remember that the truth is Jesus Christ - THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS-. God is in the business of restoration and the only one you can hold accountable is yourself. Forgive those who allowed you to believe the lies and ask for forgiveness for any resentment, anger or hurt feelings that you have toward those people. This may be really hard because people tend to hurt us pretty bad. There is JUST JESUS OR THERE ISN'T. God does not work in should have, could have and would have. We are works driven and if we can search for somthing with all our heart we will and avoid the truth. The truth is, IT IS NEVER ANYONES FAULT EXCEPT OUR OWN. WE ARE SINNERS AND JESUS IS THE ANSWER. I'm still having trouble with the paradox of being chosen and seeking Jesus. I understand your statement in "seeking for truth" but I also know too many people who were drawn while they were not looking for Him at all. And I mean "at all"!!! Yet, the Spirit convinced them and drew them in. In the Bible I could think of Saul who was religious but not really looking for a personal relationship with the Father. It makes me realize that unless I experientially know the Truth I can't really come to the place of truly believing and thus living the truth.
