The Purpose in Your Pain

“In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Do you struggle with the question of how a loving God could allow so much pain and suffering in the world?

You’re not alone with these questions. People as far back as Job have wondered why God allows bad things to happen. Many Christians have personal experiences with pain and suffering – either in themselves, or in their family, or in someone they know. Some people believe that Christians should somehow be immune to suffering. And when bad things happen to good people, it represents a crisis of faith. Why me? Why this? Why now? And those “why” questions are seldom answered satisfactorily.

Getting a fresh perspective on suffering can help you better respond to the challenges in your own life and can help you answer those difficult questions about the purpose of pain. It can also better equip yourself to deal with the inevitable pain and suffering that we all experience, either directly, or in the world around us.

In this double-cd teaching, you’ll receive a Biblical understanding of the purpose of pain, including:

  • 4 Guiding Principles for Understanding Suffering
  • 4 Kinds of Pain You Can Avoid (Getting Rid of “Needless Suffering”)
  • 6 Kinds of Pain That Are Unavoidable, but You Can Overcome
  • 5 Positive Purposes for Unavoidable Pain – Taking Pleasure in Infirmities!

By the time you finish listening to this teaching, you’ll have some practical steps for eliminating the unnecessary suffering from your life, and you’ll be better equipped to make the best of all the rest. You’ll also be able to share these principles with friends and family and encourage others as they go through their own difficult times.

There are two messages in this series, including:

The Purpose in Your Pain – 1
The Purpose in Your Pain – 2
