I need to ask a question, I hope it doesn’t sound mundane or dumb, but you mentioned that when we are in Christ, we are under the law of life, then why do we have to choose life verses death

Beautiful spiritual words with spiritual thoughts in exact alignment with the Apostle Paul ” For to me to live IS Jesus Christ.”
Jesus is our New Covenant “Torah” or Law with His provision of fellowship/ discipleship in the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ, which is much stronger than both the Mosaic old covenant law AND the law of sin and death.

I myself am guilty of trying to discern too much evil happenings within the body of Christ. When I took my eyes of Jesus, who is Life, I put myself in the enemies camp of evil and darkness and death. A form of depression came over me until the Lord let me know I had removed my focus from Him and the leading of His Spirit. When I chose to get back to my first Love of Life my whole attitude of pride changed toward Love instead of hate. I didn’t even realize I was actually hating until the Love of Christ took over me and I could finally see my sin. I am know free to live and to love through Christ, because His law supersedes the old law of death. I can personally testify that these two laws are very real and we have to choose what is Life that is His Truth to truly be set free from death and sin. This is the Gospel of Christ.

As usual Brother Chip, you have enlightened us yet again. In Genesis we learned that the first Adam was driven out of the Garden of Eden because of disobedience as he wanted to be like God, knowing good and evil. In Revelation we learned that the Tree of Life has returned due to the obedience of the second Adam, that is our Lord Jesus Christ who is God. He is the Tree of Life.

The bad tree was “pleasant to the eye, good for food and desireable to make one wise.” The good tree “had no form or comeliness, neither was there anything to be desired (in Him).” Isaiah 53.

Yes, my Brother, it is so much more than mere knowledge. Eating from that tree of knowledge of good and evil has gotten me into so much trouble…Nothing from that tree will sustain us or will satisfy us…all that grows from it is our own ego.
What caught my attention one day was that knowlege of “evil” as well as knowledge of “good” was on the “same tree”!
The Lord Jesus has spent years teaching and drawing me to Himself, Who is either in the midst of everything or in the midst of nothing…Faith and dependence on Him is required to partake of the Tree of Life…and what Life that is!!!
In the midst of the Garden…In the midst of 2 or 3…In the midst of the Ekklesia…Christ always in the midst. His Life always accessible for us to draw upon!
We must not wander away from what is always “central”, always to be in the “midst”: Christ!!!

Hi Chip,
This confirms what the Lord told my friend a day or two ago. We have been studying a DVD series called ‘Know Thy Enemy’, and something in the video must have bothered my friend who started having bad dreams. She went to the Lord with the problem, and His response, ‘Seek only after Me, know only Me, don’t look at the darkness, look only to Me’. So we are doing just that and given the DVD’s back to where they came from.
