In reply to Dave. Certainly. I am suspicious of revelation that appears to arrive independently of Scripture. But there is revelation that appears to contradict Scripture. Peter's rooftop vision, for example. Revelation often contradicts our interpretation of Scripture, not actual Scripture. But if you don't know Scripture, it's hard to tell the difference, isn't it?

Wouldn’t revelation also involve study of the scriptures since God will never do anything apart from them? Lots of hearses and cults are started because someone received “new revelations.”

I think of Isaiah, of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Elijah, Saul of Tarsus/Paul, John the Beloved….and MANY more, each one of them had a wonderful revelation of Him! I did….perhaps in not so powerful a way, but it was JUST as life-changing. I truly believe that nobody can have a revelation of Christ, and not be transformed by it. It galvanizes our thoughts, our wills, our emotions, our very hearts into a whole new Life! We see US as we are in the light of Who HE is!…. and all is changed, IN us and AROUND us. Our eyes are opened to what was veiled – covered, and we can see into eternity where Christ is seated at the right hand of God!……a catastrophic earthquake in the spiritual realm has taken place, bringing down the mighty walls that have kept us in darkness and held us captive for so long. The LIGHT pours forth like a river to reveal beyond our imagination or understanding the amazing love and grace of our Father God, and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! Oh, GLORY!!!!!!!!

My revelation of Him took me for 7 amazing years into a secret spiritual place where only He, and His Word and I abode. It was a time of washing, of healing, of learning, of hearing, understanding, of seeing, of growing like I could never have experienced with others around. The Foundation, His Word, laid by the Holy Spirit as I fed on it. Just Him and me……amazing, awesome, beyond words. I praise and thank Him for this incredible revelation of Him, of Jesus, the Holy Spirit….Hallelujah! Glory to God! Thank You, God. Thank You!

In reply to Bettina. Christ reveals to each one of us diffrently according to how we receive it, thats why His word says ask for Wisdom and Understanding from Him for no man can give us a new revelation but Christ. By His Grace

The revelation of Christ is seen everywhere throughout the pages of the Scriptures (the Bible). But this revelation is more than we can see; it must be experienced as well! Lately, I have been reading in the book of Psalms, and I see there about the New Church (the Ecclesia), the coming Kingdom of Christ, and the fall of the Old Church (characterized as Babylon). I cannot express it as clearly as what the Holy Spirit can reveal to us once our Spiritual Eyes have been opened. Yes, the message is there Brothers and Sisters for you to grasp. But , I say in all humility, it IS simply by an act of grace, (as what Chip says), and God alone can reveal it to our spirits, hearts and minds; and will do it, if we will only ask Him. And not just for us, but for ANYONE who is willing. Come… learn and see for yourself the wonderful grace of God towards us!

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Math.5:6.
Paul was hungry and thirsty to know Him and powers of His resurrection.Phil.3:10. Didn’t Paul know Christ? of course he knew Him but we know In Part. I have to be hungry to know more, God who is Eternal and absolute. We the humans are Relative, but God almighty who created Heavens and Earth; is Absolute. It is Impossible for the Relative being to know Him who is infinite and Absolute, doesn’t matter how qualified, how shrewd, how ingenious, how gifted I am. All my human wisdom is foolishness before God. It is God who reveals Himself to him, who is foolish in the world, what is weak in the world, who is low and despised in the world, so that no man might boast in the presence of God. Saul of Tarsus was very quailified man, he knew the Scriptures like the back of his hand, but he had been destroying the Church, until he received the revelations.( infact more than he expected)
“Waite and listen, every one who is thirsty! come to the Waters;and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Yes, come buy[piceless spirtual wine and milk without money and withut price[ simply for the self surrender that accepts the blessing. Isaiah 55:1.
“And He said to me.It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give Water without price from the faountain of the water of life. Rev. 21:6.
The Holy Spirit and the bride [ The Ecclesia, the truly Born again Christians] say. Come! and let him who is listeneing say, come and let every one come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of the need of those things by which the Soul is refreshed , supported and strengthened ] and who ever earnestly desires to do it, let him come , take appropriate and drink the water of life without cost. Rev.22:17.
