I believe most women who prepares meals wants everything done to make the meal most desiring and good to those who are eating it. However there is a meal that is prepared by our Lord who wants us to eat it, to fill our spirit full of Him and the relationship that we want to have with Jesus in our worship service to Him. Both meals are necessary to make it. I am afraid we so often put the meal for the body ahead of the meal for our spirit. Without the Spiritual meal, we would never be able to make it on the body meal and as stated by Chris and the other responses to today’s devotion, we have to get our priorities in order. Everyday we need the Spiritual meal so let try being Mary first and Martha second when we possibly can.

Thank you for your coomments about Mary and Martha, and how the Lord used each of her responses to bring out the point that you made – it isn’t that sevice, fellowship or preparing of meals is wrong. Your point – the vital thing is the right order.
