Brenda, Yes, we can oftentimes help others out in a greatly compassionate way; only to have those same people never acknowledge or thank us for anything! Such was Jesus' life. Such was/is our life. Yet deep down, within our own soul we knew we had been rewarded because God saw and knew of what we did for them. My sister, ALL OF HEAVEN rejoices when we share God's Love with others! Doesn't being able to share in that same Joy make it all worth the while??? Never mind what seems "the socially acceptable/politically correct thing" to do. Let us all "Love One Another" as what Jesus Christ did and now does! We all love you for your efforts. Keep on doing the right thing. Love and great Joy sent to you. Timothy B.

I went back to my old church fellowship for the funeral of a dear friend. I was ask by more people than I can count to come back to where I came from, I did not give an answer other than to say I loved and missed them, and left it at that. It was not the time nor the place to discuss our returning or not returning. Our Resurrected Christ should be our only concern and thought when it comes to evangelism and making disciples not how much church we can give them. They don't need church, they need to know how to carry their cross and follow after the Light that brought them out of darkness! Fellowship and worship is good as long as it is based on the Spirit and Truth of Gods word.

Brenda,
What a true statement! This is the heart of Christ. To sit with and love sinners as He saves their souls, just as He saved our souls. How this love needs to be spread to every corner of the earth, that people may see Him that gives life and life more abundant.

Dear Brenda! Thank you for that wonderful testimony! I praise God for you and for what you are doing....and yes, I too have been criticized for daring to wear a pair of jeans to a church! Jesus is not a part of that at all! I have to laugh when I think of Him sending people home to change into their "Sunday Clothes" before He preached to them on the Mount....! I don't think so. YES! He loves those who are lost in sin and death - the very purpose He came was to rescue the sick and dying! And we have ALL been in that category. As David said, "In sin did my mother conceive me!" - he knew his own condition, and it was because of his humble, repentant heart that God loved him.....and us, if we are WILLING to see ourselves as God sees us, and work with Him in complete surrender to take out that which offends Him and replace it with that which gives Him joy - His Son.

That is the ultimate reason why our Lord came to our planet earth. Jesus Christ came to save the lost
(sinners). I commend you for your love for the Lord by dening self and bearing His Cross. Take heart and not let the attitudes of others distract you from your calling.

Sadly, I can remember the days when I was "too good" to associate or "eat" with sinners...I was such a good little girl..I obeyed my parents, didn't curse...I went to church; didn't drink or do drugs...I thought I was so holy...Outwardly, I had it all together, but my self-righteousness was as filthy rags to Him...

But oh what amazing Love and Grace and Patience! He didn't punt me and give up on me...I did have heart and desire to know the Truth...for it seemed all around me was a lie, and it was...

He revealed to me that He is That Truth...I saw Him, and even moreso, I saw myself...what I was really like...I was so ashamed of my self-righteous, finger pointing ways...Let's say He has dealt with me through many seasons that have taught me not to trust in what Brenda can do...I'll mess it up every time on my own...

Now, I have had the pleasure of discipling ex-prostitutes, drug addicts, homeless,...the ones no one else wanted to reach out to...What a joy they are!! So free, so pure, so refreshing! So new!

I would get them in "church" and the "religious" started to "work"on them...deacons hitting on them; women jealous and threatened would avoid them; preventing them from entering into fellowship...They were critcized for their clothes, for their makeup... all external and outward....

It broke my heart!!! It broke Christ's heart!!! It broke their heart!!!

No one seems to want to "get their hands dirty". Honestly, it was difficult for me at times...It was scary....but it was the most rewarding thing I have ever done...I saw first hand what Christ could do in the life of "the worst" of sinners... (my having been one in my role as "Sister Better than You").

Now, I cannot stay in the same room with a religious spirit...I get riled up...It's like pouring gas on a fire...

Jesus died for sinners...He was comfortable with them, for they could truly see Him....they did not have all the 'religious baggage' so many of us grow up with in the "church system".

May God deliver us from our self-righteous selves that we may demonstrate and represent Him as the only Righteousness..
