For me, revelation usually comes as a result of seeking the Lord in the midst of a very difficult circumstance. Our need drives us to know Him better, and in the answer, He reveals Himself. That is the sense in which I believe revelation is granted. It is not head knowledge one obtains just for the sake of having their theoretical questions answered, but heart knowledge obtained by actually going through various experiences together with the Lord and learning from Him in those situations. My guess is that you have already experienced this type of revelation to some degree.

My personal experience is, study has nothing to do with the Revelations. I would not be able to study if I am mentally handicapped. The things of the Spirit of God are revealed to the Spirit of Man; not to his mind. The Mind have to be renewed to understand the things of the Spirit of God and that takes many, many years and that will happen only if I walk by the Spirit not by flesh i.e. mind and body. If my spirit has not become One with the Spirit of God. 1 Cor.6:17. there be No Revelations. Saul of Tarsus was more than a Pharisee. He knew the Scriptures like the back of his hand, yet he had been destroying the Church until he had the Revelations. Paul had been praying for the Ephesian Church. “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ , the Father of Glory, may give them the Spirit of Wisdom and of Revelation in the knowledge of Him. Eph.1:17. They were not missing Study, they were missing Revelations. 1Cor.2:13, 2Peter 1:20
