This article is a great reminder about the Cross for our daily lives. It is now rarely preached in religious circles, sadly for those still within its walls. It gives us the power to become more like Christ and to overcome. Without the Cross we would stand no chance of becoming free of the plagues of our inheritance, genetics, the parental and social mores of the day, or to become whole and fulfilled people. Coupled with the wonder of the Cross is that verse in Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it". The Cross is there before us to enable us to access the right gate, yet we observe that most don't, or perhaps don't want to. We have been given a free will and therefore free to make our own choices in life. Perhaps people don't realize or understand the power of the Cross to enable them to make it through the right gate. Perhaps people perish due to lack of knowledge about the victory of the Cross wrought by Christ. The battle belongs to the Lord, and the victory is ours -due to the Cross. A place of death, a place of life. Religion perhaps still leaves Jesus on the Cross. Food for thought.

hi Chip! I realize that the life of the cross is better understood by the person undergoing the way of the cross. Look, before I had children, I would listen to bigger ladies talking about how painful it is to give birth. What came to my mind was that they were either scaring young girls, which worked for me because I got scared and waited until my marriage, however, going through that process make you realize that people said it and now I feel it and it is true. Even the way of the cross is not an easy one and thanks for reminding us. It takes everything out of you. You are right. It empties you everyday and every moment. It is confusing for the beginner, but the continuous confirmation from the voice of the Lord is what gives you courage. You start comparing the pain against God and tell yourself that they don't tally, and you come across people like you who then make one realize that she is not alone and this is happening. Then you realize that it is by the grace of God that you met a person like brother Chip. Then this difficult path continues and you get rejection from churches- you move from one to the other thinking you will be better. They all reject you as if they sat together against you. Then you realize you are at peace when you are alone with God. It's a long story but I like they way you unpack it. Thanks and stay blessed!

oh boy--the truth of the matter is that life here on planet earth is tough--and no matter how hard we try as humans to get a grip on the why it still does not change the facts--God is who he is and we are who we are--even if you could come up with all the answers it would not alter the bad happenings--from my perspective im right with God by the merciful act done for me on that cross and my plan is to live by the resurrected one who came off that cross and is living inside of me by his spirit and is bodily at Gods throne interceding for me in my daily plights and one day he will give me a new body without pain suffering or sin--and boy I groan to get it over with.

Thank you for the Cross Lord,
Thank you for the Price You Paid,
Bearing all my sin and shame,
In Love You Came,
And gave amazing grace.

Thank you for this Love Lord,
Thank you for Your nail pierced Hands,
Wash me in Your cleansing flow,
Now all i know,
Your forgiveness and embrace.....

Worthy is the Lamb,
Seated on the throne,
Crown You now with many crowns,
You Reign Victorious.
High and Lifted Up,
Jesus Son Of God,
Darling Of Heaven Crucified.
Worthy Is The Lamb,
Worthy is the Lamb.
