Comments on: Beyond “Born-Again”

Chip your subject heading says it all; “born again and beyond”.

As several people have already stated being born again is much more than escaping hell and sliding into heaven.

Personally I prefer to use the term “born from above” for this reason. When we accept Jesus’ plan of salvation we are inseminated with the very character and nature of God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, as a result we become impregnated with God. We need to come to grasp this concept because it is the only way we can truly “please” God through our actions and deeds. As any of you ladies who have had children can testify, “you don’t get a little pregnant”.

We are either pregnant with God or we are not. just that simple.

The gate is only the door that we must go through onto the path that LEADS to life. Many think that once they have passed through the gate that life then becomes one big deck-chair in the sun – everything’s been done. As Dave said, the path is the place that we either overcome, or are overcome. It is the overcomers at the END of that difficult path that inherit the wonderful eternal promises of God through Christ. From my own experience, I know that as I continue down this path with Him, He surely does increase, and I decrease, until I will come to my final resting place, complete in Him for all eternity. As Kendall said, “Each beautiful, hard, strong step in weakness. Wow! “…..and every beautiful hard, strong step we take along that path – He is right there with us.

chip, it is always a blessing to read the quotes about the Gate and the narrow, narrow way.
and at the end of this narrow path we will find Jesus to be preeminent over, and in all things. it is all about our Lord growing up in us, and us growing up into Jesus, that we might be like Him, and He might be all in all. He must increase but I must decrease. I’m Loving it. each beautiful, hard, strong step in weakness. Wow!!

This is so true! Many just want to escape hells fire and just slid into heaven by the seat of their pants, but few are willing to run the race. The narrow way and the kingdom of God requires great lose and that lose is self. Are we willing to sacrifice our life for His kingdom, are we willing to walk on a very narrow path, at times may be on the edge of the cliff? We do have to be overcomers after being born again. Yes, its how we run the race that will qualify us for the kingdom. Seeing Jesus and being born again is the starting block , but the race requires endurance and dedication. May we never loose site of our Narrow Way that’s in Jesus Christ, without Him there is no Kingdom. For He is the Kingdom of God in all His Glory and Light.
