Yes Chip, In totally agree with your comment. I have crossed and talked a bit with a knowledge of Satanists in churches, with “Muslim-Christians” who believe in a Jesus who is not God (just a prophet), and Christian leaders who are Freemason … The members of the churches accept them as brothers and sisters …

So “Nothing can hurt me” should be studied in the light of other scriptures because it is not what I lived… but I Am still alive and other Christians “on the right track” wanted to denounce … found themselves in the cemetery …

Caution is essential when you want to reach certain conclusions …

Jesus would not have given us instructions to do the same things as He, to take authority, to walk on the scorpions… etc. Luke 10:19 – Nothing can hurt us … seems to me subject to conditions to fulfill…

I need more grace and discernment for that…

Yes it is indispensable… I would even say sue the whole problem is there… learn to discern.

Quite often when we have some pressing need, or are facing a threat in our lives, we give ourselves zealously to petitioning the Father for deliverance. Yet, prayer is to be a two-way communication, and our Father would also have us to listen and to discern His mind. There is NOTHING that enters the lives of God’s people that lacks some divine purpose. There are no accidents, no chance experiences, nothing random that slips by God when He is not looking, or while He was occupied with other matters. We must believe that “all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord, and are the called, according to His purpose.” If we do not believe Yahweh orders all of our experiences then life becomes nothing more than confusion and chaos that has no rhyme or purpose.

In reply to Chip Brogden. Yes Chip, "God says His people parish from lack of knowledge." God would not have given us His word to study and seek wisdom if He did not intend for us to put it to good use and obey it. Wisdom and discernment does go hand in hand. We could not conform to the image of Christ without both and the Living Word of God.

Discernment yes….but the knowledge of good and evil never worked out very good for man.

Two Scriptures comes to mind: “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest: to destroy the works of the Evil One.” And, “Jesus of Nazareth, Who went about doing good, and healing those who were oppressed by the devil.” If Jesus accepted everything as part of God’s Will, then He would have no reason to destroy the works of the devil or heal those oppressed by the devil. Just because God permits something, or somehow brings good out of it in the end, does not mean it is acceptable to Him; it very often is permitted because we do not have enough spiritual sense to rise up and challenge it in His Name. If we blame everything on the devil then we are lacking in wisdom; if we accept everything as if it were from God then we are lacking in discernment. Both are unwise extremes. We need both wisdom and discernment to know how to distinguish between good and evil, right and wrong, life and death, so we can respond to it appropriately and Biblically.

In reply to Douglas Allen. What a powerful lesson and food for thought. How we truly are a work in progress. Praise be to God, that He knows what He's doing when we do not. But one thing we do know is the victory is already ours in Christ Jesus and He is enough.
