God bless you brother and everyone who will read this may The Holy Spirit lead us !

I agree that as brothers and sisters in Christ we should overlook things that are not really important and allow The Holy Spirit to lead us so we won’t fall into the mean spirit of religion the scripture clearly states that we should be graceful to one another and allow for faults and be willing to work them out. But scripture is also clear that The Lord directs us to instruct, exhort, rebuke and build esch other up . And He calls us to do it to each other. Also He gives that to the leaders the responsibility to exhort and rebuke when it’s necessary
That’s the purpose of leaders or elders and the 5 fold ministry
“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:11-13

“Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Thank you again Chip for your message. I have a friend that I see every so often who knows I do not go to an organized church. She thinks it’s her job tote ll me to “get plugged” again. Over the years I always get nervous when I see her contemplating what I will say or how I will respond when she starts in on me on going back to “church” or bible study. One night I prayed about my situation. It was so simple because it is the truth. Every night I look forward to my quiet, personal time with my Father through prayer and his word through bible scripture and I’m not willing to give that up and be distracted by organized religion or organized bible study. Thank you Chip for helping so many people that felt the calling out and acting on it.

Blessings,

Martha

This was a very timely article that was used to bring correction to me concerning a fellowship group that I'd started up because I'd felt alone after leaving a home church that still retains a lot of institutional church similarities. I realized that I started this group to meet my needs, hoping also that the needs of others would be met as well through the group. God doesn't need another 'Ishmael effort' from us, which my starting the group was. And it explains why the group struggled - it was never God's group in God's timing. Thank you for sharing this.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
