Hi Chip,

I would reply that there is an order to God’s plan. He has a plan of salvation for every person, but according to Paul, every man “in their own order”. The creation groans and travails waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, but until their number is complete, He tarries. If He had acquiesced to the desires of our forefathers, and returned in their generation, where we you and I be today?

The overcomers will be the first to receive aionian life, then the rest of the church who do not gain the first resurrection will receive, followed by His enemies, who will be subdued, until God is all in all. The Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. The first phase of that plan of salvation is almost complete. The number of His elect, not only called, but chosen, is being completed as God chooses out a people for His name. Afterwards (after the first resurrection) the next phase will start, and it will continue on into the ages to come, until every knee bows and every tongue confesses, to the glory of God our Father. At that point He will turn the kingdom back to Him, and be subject to the Father.

This is heretical teaching I am sharing according to man’s doctrine, but it is the doctrine of Christ the Savior of the world. If only the church would believe God, believe Christ, and believe the scriptures. Remember the words of our Lord. Many are called, but few are chosen.

Yes Chip, I absolutely agree. There are many preachers today, proclaiming all sorts of things, yet few preach the true Gospel, as they might lose their job (i.e.pay-cheque) if they did. The lack of a healthy fear of the Lord, combined with an incorrect interpretation of His grace, is causing pastors to focus on creating a user-friendly environment with a nice atmosphere. Preaching repentance and the fear of the Lord is not very popular in a place created for comfort, and where success is measured in quantity rather than quality.

I love your devotionals, but in todays you use the word “rarely” and it hit me as kind of extreme. There are people preaching the Gospel around the world, including myself here in America.

Granted, “the workers are few” But His word continues to go out. Maybe I am not understanding what you mean.
