I heard an example the other day that seems appropriate. We decide we want to make a baby so we go about picking arms, legs, we pick eyes, ears, a nose. Then we expect God to breath life into our creation. It does not work that way, He pick all the parts and colors, breathing life into the baby. We have a part to play but it is His decision, at His insistence. We need to stop choosing where and why we go and stop expecting God to come along side and breath life into our choices.

In reply to <a href="https://theschoolofchrist.org/july6#comment-4639">Macario Cadatal</a>.

Thanks Macario. The sum total of everything is the principle of co-laboring together with God. God works in us, but we cooperate with that work or we quench and hinder that work. I can do all things through Christ, but I do nothing without Him. Nevertheless, it is still "me" who must "do" by, through and in Christ Who strengthens me. The truth is somewhere in the middle of doing everything myself and doing nothing at all. Hope this helps to clarify.

Thanks Chip for answering my query on "The Ultimate Purpose". I got your point. In your post, "As a Little Child" and "Our Weapon of Choice" it seems to suggest that we have to do some work of our own. If i remember right you had a post sometimes in the past with reference to "Entering the Door and Walking the Path" in Matt. 7::13-14.The point was, how we entered the door should also the way we walk the path, quoting Col. 2:6. I understand it as no work of our own because it is all the work of God. You also frequently quote Paul, "Not I, but Christ" which i understand as Christ doing the work through me/us. So of my own effort i can't act "As a Little Child" and can't make a godly choice. So reading your posts, i got at least three thoughts: 1). It's all God's work and none of me/us, 2). Some kind of a joint effort between God doing and me/us doing our share, and 3). God gave me/us the freewill, to make a choice either to accept or reject. Am a bit confused but i also read these verses which tells me that i don't need to struggle and panic: Eph. 2:6-"already seated with Christ", Gal. 2:20-"Not i but Christ", Col. 1:13-"brought us into the Kingdom of the Son he loves", Col. 1:27-"Christ in you, the hope of glory", Rom. 8-our security in Christ and many more. Can you please comment, especially on the exercise of human freewill. I am learning so much from you posts. Thanks.

I must be walking in great power b/c I am walking in great weakness. Sometimes I foget these basic principles of discipleship. I will come out with another experience in Christ that will be of great value yo me for I have chosen to walk it out His Way. Yes, it hurts. Yes, I feel alone. Yes, He is enough. I've proven hi
over and over.

My faith has found a resting place not in
     device or creed.
I trust the Everliving One; his wounds for me
     did plead.
I need no other argument; I need no other plea.
It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died
      for me.
