I am not getting the meaning of the scripture above to mean anything about a certain bible version. When this scripture was written there was not a particular version. The same is true with denominationalism. What difference does it make?? This verse simply means that we are not to go the way of man and his ideals when it comes to Gods purpose and pleasure for His people. We are not to be deceived by shallow unfruitful traditions that are man made that leads us further away from Christ. There are many traditions in our society today that are worldly, man made, pagan and against God. We are not to listen to or follow such things and be deceived that men in churches say it OK to mix a little of this and a little of that because it doesn’t hurt anything. It hurts God for His people to follow any tradition and or celebration that the world participates in. God will not share His glory or His will with anything outside His word. This is where the road to Him is VERY NARROW INDEED! We cannot be fooled with empty deceit according to man.

the word of God is powerful and doesn’t differentiate about what version it is, as long as we read the word, the Holy Spirit can teach us, we need not get over zealous about the version, I read the new king james and like it. Thanks Chip for sharing this, I agree

Oh I do wish the worlds teachers would stick with the King James. When words are changed, “meanings” are changed! The KJV was without a doubt divinely guided & blessed. I’m sure God got it absolutely right the first time, (& for all intents & purposes, the KJV “was” the first time.) Subsequent versions get ever increasingly further & further away from the original.
