Such a good lesson. I so much want to keep my eyes on the Lord for the truth. So many distractions the old devil uses. But I am so grateful that Godly discernment helps me to see the devil’s lies and ways. Everyday I ask Him to show me….Psalm 25:4. Thank you Chip!

God, keep us from the pride that holds us back from repentance and the joy that comes from Your forgiveness. Give us the grace to HEAR and SEE Your truth and walk in it – always! Amen.

Well, it reassures me, because I try to be at the feet of Jesus and to be enlightened, so my view will improve.
But how or what to respond in discussions with our beloved theologians and teachers very well Educated in the Scriptures?

Apart from the initial revelation who Jesus/God truly is, then there is an ongoing spiritual enlightening as we walk with God and read the Scriptures. The more we delve in, the more God reveals to us the spiritual truths within.
We gain spiritual discernment (there is a SD gift too), which helps us see into situations and people, beyond the natural eye and natural understanding. We see even the ‘spirit’ behind something, whether for good or evil.
Isaiah 29
11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

The Bible is a spiritual book and we understand its contents and God with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It takes away our ‘natural’ blindness and it becomes a living word, this bringing life.

Wow! I’ll say it backwards! Wow! Once again truth reigns. The simplicity of that truth is profound. How many of us are in that state still? How many Christians sit in that state?
I can attest to the fact that it is better to experience Christ first hand than to read about Him or be taught about Him.

In reply to Carolyn. Amen I agree born blind, in darkness until Christ who is the light reveals Himself to us. What joy it is to be able to see for Christ is in us and us in Him. We who have Christ have All we need for we lack nothing but to be dependent on Him as a newly born baby is to it's mother and only He will mature us into seeing, into walking in Him.Glory

Amen to You Chip and all the above. To be Spiritually Blind is a sad and scary state of being. We have Spiritually Blind Leaders leading many down the wide road straight to hell. We pray that these will see the the narrow way and stay Spirituallyseeing and alert to all that God has for us to see Him in our journey here on earth. God Bless all that see Spiritually and have a servants heart to lead to Christ by their talk and especially their walk in the Lord and with the Lord.

I agree fully with what you have said, but as carnal beings we tend to be wow by clever minds. Our Lord told Martha, one thing you must know, Mary is doing the right thing by sitting at His feet learning from Him and seeing the “Light.” Saul was a learned person but was persecuting the Lord’s people until Christ appeared to him and Christ ‘s Light blinded Saul. After 3 days the Lord restored his sight and he could see the Lord. Spiritual knowledge triumphs over physical knowledge.
