In reply to <a href="https://theschoolofchrist.org/may2#comment-4117">Linda L. Bauer</a>.

The narrow path is following Jesus wherever He leads. Did He ever lead us to follow Him to church? If not, do we need to wait for Him to lead us out, or are we the ones that went astray by looking for Him in all the wrong places? Something to think about. But the narrow path is more than where you are physically, whether you go or don't go somewhere. It is where you are in your walk with Jesus, and that has to do with your love relationship. Concentrate on that, not who else is or is not following Him. They will do what they will do, and each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

Is part of walking the narrow path leaving the church system? I still have some family there and I wish they would leave it as well but haven't so far. It concerns me that man's so called traditions are still popular with most people in the world today and this alone is bad enough. I have prayed for them to leave and stop this, to try and get them to see these are all wrong ways and they do not lead one to Jesus although they claim to believe in Him, they do not follow as they should. I have even wondered about my own salvation am I on the narrow path? I have no social life to speak of and am so alone lots of times and feel even more so because I seem to be the only Christian in this household and I feel trapped in it. If I could, I'd move away but finances stop that from happening. I'd like to know some examples of you who are walking the narrow path if you would please. It would make me feel better knowing if I am also on that narrow path plus, I pray my family I have left and all others will do what's right and leave those church buildings and worship God without them. Please God, not man! I pray God our Father will make them see it as it should be not the way they practice it.

Chip, I know by what you say and write that you do not want to be lifted up for what you say but let the Word, God, our Father, Jesus Christ, our Savior and the Holy Ghost, our comforter be lifted up and that we all would drawer nearer to Them in what you are sharing with us. Your words do enlighten our thinking and cause us to dig deeper into the Word and desiring a closer and deeper relationship with our Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I thank you for that, for planting the seed so we will get hungry for more. I believe we all want to go the narrow way but without having to travel it because the way does get more narrow as you travel down the path. But we each and everyone have to walk it our self as God leads the way. You told us not too long ago that God had given us the only Gift we need and when we have that Gift it will pull us through anything. As we walk through the narrow gate and down the narrow road or path, our Gift has to be with us all the way. We can not make it on our own. We are to occupy until He comes, but be ready at all times. Like the ten virgins, five were wise and were ready, five were foolish and unable to go because they were not prepared. Five were prepared to walk the narrow road and five were not so they could not make it on the narrow way. To the five foolish He told, I never knew you. That is very, very heavy and would be so hard to hear that He never knew us. Thank God for the Gift He gave us to make it though this journey we are traveling. Jesus went the narrow way for us, so hold on to Him and do not let go.

This Scripture in Matthew would indicate that not many people will make it to Heaven. However, John’s vision as recorded in the book of Revelation seems to show the opposite:
“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.”(Rev.7:9)

Something to think about here: Have you ever noticed how so many people like to complicate the whole issue of salvation? Should we perhaps understand the Scripture like this? “Straightforward is the way; uncomplicated; with a narrowed view or focus; focused in on, and narrowed down to, Jesus. All you need is Jesus Christ, as He IS the Way!
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”(John14:6)
Perhaps the issue here is in people “finding” the narrow way instead of being led by faith and through His Spirit? I think we would agree that it is nearly impossible for someone, in his own strength and by his own understanding, to find his way to Heaven. As the Bible tells us: to so many people the Scriptures are foolishness.
“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.”(1Cor.2:14)

Blessings,
Mario

Such an eye opening scripture. As you said Chip, "The Gate is only the Beginning". "Narrow is the Way that leads to Life". The Road indeed is a very narrow Way. My heart is burdened for those who believe in an easy gospel that's not the "Way the Truth and the Life." They are the ones that follow man and not Christ. They believe their place in heaven is reserved only to find out in the end it wasn't. So very sad indeed. To be honest, I'm not sure if people want the True Way because one must truly die, to have It. I have a relative that has been in the system most of her life. She was making a comment of rebuke to the TV preachers and in reply to her statement, I said those within the system called church are the leaders that need to be examined because there are many wolves that have crept in. She now will not have anything to do with me because I offended the system that ensnares Gods people. Religion and worldliness is so dark no one can see it right in front of their face. I'm so thankful Jesus brought me out and opened my eye's to Himself. Although that place is very lonely because most people do not understand it and its difficult to communicate Truth them. I feel like an outcast most days to others but I continue to stand on Truth even though its a place of suffering.

Sad but true..Most of my christian life I only thought of Jesus as the Door, the Gate, the Way...Never even considered the Path, though I inadvertantly found myself on one...I started with the Wide Path, but as many seasons killed me off, I found the Path kept getting more and more narrow...

I think Jesus as the Good Shepherd herded me more and more onto the Narrow Path...I wanted Him, all I could have of Him...and this Narrow Path was where He led me, and the Path seems to be getting narrower and narrower, but ironically, also the grass is getting greener and greener...

Truly, it is a difficult Path...Our Self screams in agony and is prone to wander off to the wider, easier Path that leads to destruction...

We cannot afford to be lazy and blind...We must pay constant attention to which path we are walking...
