Every time I reread I understand a little better, but I do not still seize everything… Yes, I already have all these bad things… «The key is how do we respond to them» Yes, I see this especially by looking at the state of my heart in these situations… «We can fight them, or we can embrace them.» Well, here I understand less if it is necessary to make something or not, and in which situation… I cannot think that God allows all the horrible things which happen to us… «Paul clearly shows us that it is not always God’s will for us to be saved FROM the fire. Often we are called to walk THROUGH the fire» Yes, that I begin to understand. «To be delivered from weakness is one thing, but to meet Grace in my weakness is something else entirely.» But both may not be mutually exclusive each other… Growth to continue for me.

Amen, Chip! If we expect God to deliver us from everything that comes against us, we will never become strong in our faith and trust in Him. We will have no reason to believe that He IS able to deliver us IN our tribulations and trials. Swimming against the current that threatens to drown us builds muscle. No muscle, and when the floods surge, and the eddies engulf us, we are unable to come through. Lord, teach us to rejoice in tribulation, KNOWING that YOU are building our spiritual muscle and making us strong in You for what is yet to come! We can do NOTHING without You, LORD, but we CAN do ALL things through You, Jesus, Who strengthens us! Hallelujah! Amen.

Hey Chip,
Can’t help but be reminded of Daniel’s 3 friends thrown into the fiery furnace….Their amazing response could have only come thru their committed faith and trust in their God that they KNEW would deliver them, “but, if not….”

I think it is the “if nots” that we struggle with when our soul gets pressed by the fire…That’s where the “wide and easy path” looks good.

“God, help us to get into that place in You where we can embrace the fire and walk thru it as it comes to us in its many forms. May we trust Your Grace even in the midst of trial.”
