Well… maybe not in all situations… sometimes we have to react within 24 hours or less… otherwise it’s too late, because in practice the “door” is otherwise closed; so if we haven’t heard from God and just waited without doing anything… Do you see what I mean?

I think this month I made the mistake of waiting to hear the Word of God concerning an action to take…

I thank God for directing us to your site. All articles, teachings, courses, your books have been filet mignon to both my husband & I. We thank God for taking us out of churchianity and helping us to develop our relationship with HIM and focus on a Christ centered faith and for providing your website to us which is definitely helping us. Keep writing what our Lord is saying, revealing to you. It is for us too way across the globe. Wow, God definitely feeds HIS children. Our God is so good.

Good post.

Hope you are recovering from the effects of Hurricane Matthew.

Part of our problem comes from the fact that everything around us is geared to work in an instant. We want results “now”. I just posted yesterday that while I was working on getting a message ready for a meeting at a small fellowship for this past Sunday, I just could not seem to get it come to a good conclusion.

When I finally allowed God to show me what was wrong, He simply said, “when you start out right you will finish up right”. I had started our trying to establish something that was not right. When I changed my beginning it dovetailed together perfectly. I didn’t have to change the core of my message, just the beginning.

Praise God for His careful and thoughtful guidance.

..nothing is to occur before its Appointed Time. Forcing ‘the issue’ only leads to slips and then might help prevent unnecessary correction, though correction is always necessary.

Good post! Didn’t he say something to them about throwing the net over the RIGHT side of the boat? Oh wait, I think that was later or it might be in a different account at the end of John. But , ” When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into DEEP water, and LET down the nets for a catch.” As you wrote it takes Patience and Trust and not to force things ahead of their proper time. “My yolk is Easy and My burden is Light”. Remain in Me as in you. The world says “Go DO!” ..I saw, “No wait”.

I just love this practical application of a well known story! This speaks directly to my life, today. All my hard work, trying to fix my own problems, has gotten me nothing but tears and anguish. All I had to do was listen, HEAR what Jesus told me to do years ago. That’s so simple, yet not so easy. Unfortunately I had to exhaust all other paths before seeing that one narrow path. It’s nice on the narrow path, worry-free and relaxing. I don’t know the outcome yet, but I know it will be forthcoming, and I know when I see it, it will be fabulous and exactly what I need. Praise God!

Chip, thank you for waiting and listening! I had this very word from the Lord over the Yom Kippur services this last weekend. Wow, did I need to hear it again… Yes indeed, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere!
