Here is a simple little prayer that I frequently pray when I am trying to grasp a principle or concept of the word of God, if this can help you in any way please feel free to use as often as you like.

I often simply pray this: “Lord if this is real make it real in My heart.”

I believe that this is a prayer that is answered immediately, however we may not see the revelation immediately, but it has never failed to work for me. May God bless you.

This is one of my favorite passages of scripture Chip.

I have said many times that at some point we all have to answer the question of “who do you say Jesus is?” We can answer in many ways, it can be either to salvation or unto damnation, but all will answer. However, when He reveals Himself in our heart and that revelation becomes “alive” to us in our inner being, then we have truly answered the question in the best possible way. What we do from that point forward is totally up to us.

As for me, from that point on I have not stopped wanting to be aware of His presence in every thing I do, even when I am not doing or acting my best behavior. This has brought and continues to bring about a freedom that I find hard to explain at times. I can worship Him at any time or anyplace, and I don’t need a pointy top building, an order of worship or have to recite something repeatedly to accomplish this.

He is alive, He is Lord, and He reigns supreme. AMEN!!!!

I see many today who are trying to reveal to us a different revelation of Christ. From televangelists to denominational ministers. From those with near death experiences, to the media, from all the False Christs and False Prophets ; many are proclaiming their own version of who Christ is. Some say he is truly angry at the condition of Humanity today. Others that He weeps. Some threaten judgment. Others offer news of an impending Rapture to snatch away Christians who look to escape any persecution or tribulation. I may wonder. Have they truly met Jesus Christ HIMSELF so as to KNOW and SPEAK for HIM? I could get scared. That would be exactly what they want. But my Jesus gives me strength and courage to face anything. Thank you Chip! I say this with tears of gratitude. You present the “true Christ”, and it is all about giving Him the pre-eminence. So not only do you tell us that, you exemplify it in your own life! This, and this alone is where we all should be. Not searching for another Christ, but honoring the ONE WHO IS! And we won’t try to say we can speak “for Him”, but allow His Holy Spirit to speak THROUGH us. Let us search our hearts and souls so as to seek and find HIM. CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD. Amen.

Hi Chip, I still struggle with this Revelation and testimony–Doesn’t the burden of our testimony fall on Jesus, as He determines to reveal or not reveal Himself? Peter wasn’t looking for this Revelation but Jesus acted and Peter recognized this revelation as coming from God’s Son and he responded.
Time and again in Scripture Jesus revealed Himself and people responded. I know His desire was/is that the Church, His called out ones, would be part of this revelation or evidence of His reality to unbelievers today. Today we are praying that some in our family would see/experience, undeniable evidence that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and respond like Peter.
We keep praying, but to date these prayers for undeniable evidence–revelation– do not seem to have been answered.
Chip, thanks for keeping the reality of the need for revelation before us. I believe that this is the teaching of Scripture–we just want to know/see that truth worked out in our family.

For those who believe the Truth of Christ are given the gift of the Holy Spirit and it’s this gift that lives within that gives power and utterance of the Truth.
With God revealing all things according to His will.
Peter had this gift or he would not have known the truth of Christ. For those who yield to the leading of Gods Spirit, they are able to discern the Truth of Gods Word and the falseness of the enemy.

Thank you once again for a great and timely word. Your short takes always leave me hungering for more as I’m riding the metro or bus here in France. I know you’ve written books and as of now I don’t have any of them. One day I will be able to purchase them, but until then, thanks much. Be encouraged and know that you are ministering His Word to people you may never meet, but who need encouragement as we too are ministering in foreign lands. You are the blessed of the Lord!
