With this lesson and many others before it, you are taking me to the next level of understanding that, I may be outside the camp but I still have the responsibility of finding Life and to lead others to Life. You have made me more conscious of of instances of self centeredness. I love it when you say, "So let everyone be where the Lord has called them to be.
"We hear a lot of talk about trying to unify the Church, but until we see that we are already One Flock we will just keep on talking about it and never experience it. We must see before God that He has already made us One Flock under One Shepherd. This is not some future event, but a spiritual reality, waiting for us to enter into".

I completely agree. I was attending a local congregation as a new convert from the age of 22 (I am now 28). The Lord quickly began to pull me out of the mindset of the earthly systems devised by man. By revelation he had allowed me to see that the Church is in unity no matter where the saints are gathered.
Blessed is He who sheperds His flock!

I thank the Lord for saints such as yourself. May God richly bless you.

Wow. This is just what I've been looking for. My pastor keeps referring to himself as the Shepherd and to us as his sheep. I see him as an undershepherd of God's flock. But we don't belong to the pastor. He's someone to watch over us spiritually, but ....I liked the 23rd Psalm reference, "The Lord is my shepherd....could we say the Lord is my pastor?" No way.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm not really sure why I'm writing.
One of the reasons is how I have been feeling. I know I have life, but sometimes it feels so lonely.
I thought that was a good question you asked Cathy and I myself would be interested in knowing what she feels.
Even when I was going to church I was very lonely. I'm haveing a hard time determining the difference between lonliness and depression for myself. There have been alot of changes in my life and alot of my old relationships do not fit into my lifestyle anymore.
While I was reading this article, I felt the Lord telling me that my family is first. Bringing them into a relationship with Jesus.
The Lord gave me an opportunity a few years back to Minister to a long lost relative and her family. Her life has changed so much and I want more of the same for other members.
I'm not sure how to use the time I have now, but I am sure of one thing, when the time is right, he will return me to take part in the undersheparding.
I look more forward to that more than entering into another Church.
Thanks for listening and please pray for me. There is a situation, but it's hard to imagine that God would use me in it. I guess my own self thinking that God could possibly use me as an undershepard to change things.

Hi Chip - My wife and I were sharing this morning where God is leading us currently as individuals and as a couple. She made a comment that at the moment it is as though Jesus is standing before her, beckoning, and she is following.
What came to me as her words were highlighted in my mind was a picture of sheep in a pen being beckoned out of the open gate by the shepherd, not driven out, but encouraged to leave.

We live in New Zealand, a land of some 4 million people and 50 million sheep - farmers here use dogs to drive large flocks of sheep around. We used to have a 10acre block with a few sheep, cattle and pigs. Once the sheep, or cattle, got to know my voice I could open a gate and call them into fresh pasture, they came - I didnt need to drive them - they knew my voice.

As in the natural, so in the Spiritual..?

Now, God called us out of the structural/denominational church system some 20 years ago, and we are still shedding baggage from that system. Currently we are being taken through an acceptance that the 'second coming' of Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (when we, if still alive, will be translated into spiritual beings) is not an end of our 'life' but a beginning of the restoration of Gods creation. He is returning to save His 'world', His creation, not just some of the people in it. Hallelujah.

Is God currently gathering His sheep, calling them out into fresh pastures..?
Are they being prepared to live a life of total faithfulness and dependance in Him through the coming times of trouble..?
Yes, we believe so.

..and are these sheep learning to be 'connected' by and through Gods Holy Spirit, so that at some point all will hear His voice and move..?
Oh yes, we believe that too..!

God Bless you Chip - for your faithfulness to share His revelations to you, and for your continually pointing toward Jesus Christ as THE Head and THE Shepherd

Hi Cathy,

Yes I read that book many years ago, it's a great read.

I totally respect where you're coming from, and I'm not trying to tell you what to do. I do have a question. Why does "being with the local Body" automatically mean going back to church? That's the part I'm confused about.
