Jesus will never be able to increase as long as people still choose to live in darkness (self-centeredness). We have a choice to either be obedient to His will or do our own thing. Many times our “own” thing sounds good but it may not be God’s perfect will in that particular situation.

Darkness can manifest in many ways as we go through life. Often we don’t want to face unpleasant situations,so we “choose” to avoid then in order to “feel” good. Sometimes we are asked to do something that is not convenient to
our schedule so we opt out by using the phrase “I am too busy right now”. We often fail to see our mistakes and learn from them, so we slip into denial, and the list goes on.

Sometimes the simple and seemingly insignificant little things we do will reveal
Jesus to someone we least expect is even paying any attention.

The very reason why He is not increasing in us is that we have not truly surrendered to Him, we not have experienced the power of the Highest, we are still in control and we have not met and have a true revelation of His person. Acts 9:5-9, Gal 1:11-17. Paul is a perfect example, the revelation of the Son completely stopped the process of sin and self. It was like a 360 degree change. This was not religion but relationship and Lordship of Christ.

At Romans 1:20 we read: “Ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature, namely, His eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they (Humanity) are without excuse.” Christ as God’s universal intelligence IS immanent in all creation, sustaining and upholding such. Yet we as Humans fail to recognize Him as present within the creation itself. This is not to say, as many do and would say, that Christ is just some energy or power, that we as Christians experience. THE PERSON OF JESUS AS THE CHRIST IS NOT RECOGNIZED BY ALL. All have not come to recognize Christ as LORD in all His pre-eminence. Even Christians struggle with submitting to His Lordship! Yet He MUST increase. One day, ALL will recognize, and submit to His Lordship. Hallelujah! Yes. May we all say with the Apostle John. “Amen, come Lord Jesus”.
