In reply to Susan. "Right and wrong" is a question of interpretation, and that belongs to the realm of theologians and disputers of words. I would not say there is anything "wrong" with praying God's Word. God sees the intention of your heart, which is more important than being correct.

Can you answer this question for me Chip….
Is it wrong to pray for someone that needs physical healing and say “by HIS stripes you are healed”?
or was this scripture written for spiritual healing only?

Great article! It made me think of my current state of physical isolation from the Body and something I journaled recently…I asked the Lord this question on 7/9: “Do I need to be pastored, or do I need to be trained.” (This question flowed from a couple of opportunities I am considering). I believe He said: “You need to be equipped for the work of the ministry. This is what My Body lacks, yet it’s what I desire to bring”.

…so we say Yes LORD!

Amen! in your prayer. Certainly, God equip his people through the leadership of others. God uses man as His vessel to show His desire and purpose to mankind. God is Spirit and no one has see him but His Son made Him known on the New testament. On the Old Testament the Israelis and His leaders made God known to other nations.
