The tithe has been a sticking point for years. When folks set up a “system” and intend to profit from that “system”, then they will do just that–profit. The mega-pastor syndrome was built on the back of this manipulation of the law. And we know that if we attempt to keep the law, we have to keep the WHOLE law. Jesus specifically said that we are under grace. Be free. Give as the Lord directs to the needs of the saints and don’t be entangled with that yoke of bondage called the tithe!

In reply to Stephen. I also am having a very hard time finding something. I have been saved since I am ten years old and am now 72. Church was a very important part of my life, now not so much. I cannot find a good church. There aren't any. I miss the fellowship, the good messages from a pastor. I stay home and I know I am saved, but it is a lonely life. My spouse also passed at a young age God is good, and i understand about having to hang on much longer. I am glad I am not alone

Thank you dear Chip for your valuable teachigs that i always enrich and much more a confirmation tothe leadings of the Holy Spirit indeed . as to leaving church i came out from Catholic church though my husband still attends though he do not have much appreciation or faith about it but but just a routine way of going to satisfy him . By the grace of God he has no objection of my going and attending a near by church A Penticostaal church Assemblies of God though i attend because i love the worship service though at times becomes too emotional but teachings alays a confirmation to my mediation on the word through my personal prayer as from the begining i was touched in 1978 novemeber 5th . God directed me trough Isa 60;19,20

I was preferring to stay home from the Baptist church I belong to more and more.
Sometimes I didn’t feel so comfortable there. Sometimes it seemed alright. A couple times at least, I’d look over at someone and see a evil spirit in their faces and wonder is this real? Other tomes I’d look and see their faces looked normal again. But one guy who has since moved, would bring this one daughter of his, (he has two grown daughters) and I’d see some sort of evil in her eyes it was frightening. So I never bothered to look at her again when she was there.
The pastor there is a man around late 30’s or 40’s and married with 2 boys. He seems to preach from the word of God, the Holy Bible but also has a sense of humor once in awhile then back to being serious.
I started wanting to be home on Sundays and I really like it. I’d like to be able to explain why I want to now more than ever to my family but not sure how to go about it, will you give me good christian examples why it is better than going to a church service? I want to a real relationship with JESUS CHRIST and all the ways of going about it. I am glad I found this site and wish to convince my family to do the same but they are used to going to church every Sunday and meet their friends there and end up chatting awhile before leaving the church grounds.
I’ve seen many church goers doing this so it’s normal to many church members. Sometimes, after church services, we have a lunch buffet and people will bring a dish of some kind.

I find it incredible that a certain denominations leaders profess that 70 plus percent of those who attend their services arent believers. Whats more shocking is they are all right with that reality without making changes. Why??

How many more denominations arent that straight forward or honest. Can mixture grow up those who are born from above into the head/body? Is there to be a division not to mix with the people of the land? Can we reform the enemies of God in the land? Many questions to ponder to those who want to work within the corrupt system. Maybe if Israel would of followed that idea of mixing and working within the systems of Caanan they would of changed and converted the people of the land. Read the answers the Father has recorded is clear.

Hear the call to come out of the whore and be not found in her.

2Co 6:14-15/EBR v 14 Be not getting diversely yoked with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness? v 15 And what concord hath Christ with Beliar? Or what part hath a believer with an unbeliever?

Dereje, what you said about what is going on in the “House of God” is so very true. We do need revelation from God in order to see this, and He is more than gracious to share is with people if they will just seek it.

However we must keep in mind Eph.6:12; For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood (real people), but principalities and so forth.

The word principality comes from a Greek word Arche (ar-kay) which basically means a ruling force or influence, which does manifest itself in people. These principalities are very strongly entrenched in many churches. We must be very careful not to attack the people, but try to pull down the stronghold instead . When you do find someone who has had enough of “churchanity” let them know that they are not alone, and they can survive “outside the camp”.
