Hello.
Natural light is just a representation of spiritual light. David said in the book of psalms, in thy light shall we see light. The spiritual light is the Word of God that makes things clear and make us understand what it is, how it is, why it is and what God wants. The word of God is Jesus. The only one who fully know God and can reveal. The word of God not only enlightens us, but also the natural world, spiritual and God's will.

Great article Chip.

If I might kindly add... When God said "Let there be light", many people think He created it. But God IS light and He always has been! If God is Light and He had no beginning, then that light was never created on that first day, He just made light shine on the face of the earth. As you say Chip, that light is related to Him...and He never had a beginning.

It's kind of like if we are walking around at night in the dark with a flashlight and I said, "Let me have some light over here". You would shine light in that particular area. Because of the disorder between Gen 1:1 and Gen 1:2, the earth needed light in that particular area.

God is Light. Anything outside of Him is outer darkness. Great article Chip. Blessings.

Dear Brother Chip.
i hear you, i also looked at the Light subject but from the angle of Creation,
i came up with 4 kinds of Light:
1. Light- God at work. ( during creation, leading the people out of Egypt, stopping Saul, etc)
2. Light- Jesus Christ.( the light of the World)
3. Light- Knowledge.(tho se who have received Christ are the light of the world)
4. Light- Stars ( Sun, Moon, etc)

what will be your take on this.

Praise God for your testimony Sherry. Simply put: all our works by faith is inspired & empowered by a relationship & nature change in Christ Jesus. Man's traditions has does major damage and many are coming out of that "harlot system" has you have.
Blessing to God; be encouraged in your walk with Him.

Thanks Chip for sharing; curious to read the book now.

Love this kind of teaching. I remember when I first saw this in scripture and how if we truly meditate on His word He will show us things rather than just reading or skimming over it. This is how we get those 'treasures' as He shines His Light over His Word for He is the Light of the world and because He dwells in us His Light shines thru us! His Kingdom is ever increasing. It's like we are 'going back to the future.' Good word!

Chip,
Is this the same as God wanting to be worshiped in spirit and truth? When faith is based on the natural means is this man's way of putting man's spin on worship and what faith should look like? The church I came away from based everything on sight and what man was doing for Christ and this was considered faith and obedience. Nothing was ever taught on resting in Christ and this Sabbath would lead to the light of Christ, not something it wasn't meant to be. I still find myself having the mind set that the Pharisee's have, because all I ever knew in the institutional church was, am I doing enough, serving enough, obeying enough? It's as though everything is based on the visual and not spiritual. Thank you for reminding me that all of God's word is based on Jesus Christ from beginning to end. It gives us a new prospective on interpreting the bible based on the power of the Spirit and the truth of Jesus. The chains are being removed that the man made institution had placed on me, this has been a slow process of renewing the mind to the light of Christ and His yoke, not continued work's that are done in vain and a form of false worship.
