The thing that is on my heart this week, and has been for the last couple of weeks, is this situation in Ukraine. Let me start by saying this is not a political podcast. I am not a political person. I have an opinion, just like everyone else. But I will never use this platform to propagate my political opinions. How can I proclaim the freedom and joy of a Christ-centered faith and then start talking about politics? That is a sure-fire way to bondage and depression! You don’t come to me for political opinions, political commentary. There are plenty of places you can go to get that, if that’s what you’re looking for.
I represent the Kingdom of God. I represent a Christ-centered faith. In a world with millions of political and religious commentators my mission is to bring a Christ-centered, Kingdom of God perspective on things. To do that, to see that clearly, and to understand that thoroughly, I believe you have to go “outside the camp” and be reduced to Jesus. You have to get outside that whole machinery of politics and religion. I have to stand outside and apart from all of that to be able to see and hear what the Spirit is saying to the Ekklesia, and to you, my brothers and sisters following Jesus “outside the camp.”
