The cross defeated (but did not destroy) the devil, darkness, or death. The devil still seeks to steal, kill, destroy, devour, and deceive. Why? Because God’s Will, Way, and Wisdom is to involve us in saving the world – going into all the world, sharing the Good News with all people, making disciples of all nations. Christ overcame, but rather than destroy all enemies for us, He invites us to overcome as He overcame – to collaborate together with Him for the salvation, healing, deliverance, and reconciliation of all people. In the process of following in the footsteps of the Master Savior, Healer, Deliverer, and Redeemer, we become acquainted with God’s Will, Way, and Wisdom. We are transformed, perfected in love, made fit for the master’s use, and qualified to rule and reign with Him as we overcome evil, heal the brokenhearted, and set the captives free.
