Far too many Christians are still living and relating to the scary God of the Old Testament. Instead of a Love-Based Relationship, they have a Legalistic-Based Religion.
Christianity itself was born as a rebellious sect within Judaism that believed 1) Jesus is the Messiah AND 2) God had made a New, Better, Superior, and More Excellent Covenant, sealed by the Blood of Jesus, with Israel and with all nations. That is what finally split Christianity from Judaism. You could not have one foot in the Old and one foot in the New! But religion crept in (4th Century) and led us astray from the simplicity of Christ, so that even today, Christians still cling to the weak elements of the “Old.”
The way out of this mess is to return to our roots. To go forward we must go backward. We must learn how to live in this New Covenant!
