08. What Do We Owe God?
“Not I, but Christ.” (Gal. 2:20).
There is point of view that says, “We are God’s children, and He loves us no matter what; and since there is nothing we can do to earn God’s Love or deserve God’s grace, we owe God nothing!” This false assertion conflates “God’s Love” with “God’s Approval.” It also conflates “being His child” with “earning His favor.” Because, as it turns out, we DO owe God something in return.
